Getting sidetracked
I am really good at getting sidetracked. I gave myself an official snow day on Wednesday so I didn’t have to risk killing myself trying to drive through the storm, managed to dye a few new pieces, but ended up getting sucked into the black hole of the computer for most of it. I started working on my own website shopping cart that I don’t know if I’ll ever use, but it looks fantastic and works perfectly as far as I can tell. I amaze myself sometimes that I can look at something that’s totally greek to me and decypher the language just enough to coax it into what I want. Mind over matter, I say.
I did have one of those ooops! moments last night though when I made a few modifications to a new blog widget that I wanted to add to the sidebar and everything else went blank in front of my very eyes. I screamed out loud. Words that will not be repeated on this blog. When I started breathing again, I remembered that there are safeguards built-in just in case of such stupidity. I’m going to lay off the widgets for a while. They are apparently addictive and hazardous to my health. Mind over matter doesn’t always work in one’s favour.
Speaking of getting sidetracked, here is a lovely place to get lost gazing at beautiful things, website of Melody Johnson, art quilter extraordinaire. If you’re not into keeping up with the great work that’s being done in the world of art quilts, it doesn’t matter. I know you like colour – or else you wouldn’t be reading my blog. Melody Johnson’s colour palettes will blow your mind. She’s got a great blog too called Fibermania; the link to that is under “Textile Stuff” in the right sidebar. But first, go have a peek at her website here:
Even the URL is a hoot!
